The Canadian Monument Builders – Ontario Monument Builders Association (CMB-OMBA)
is dedicated to promoting and advancing the monument industry across Canada. We strive to uphold the highest standards of business ethics among our members, ensuring integrity, quality craftsmanship, and consumer trust. Through community, education, collaboration, and
advocacy - including the sharing of safety knowledge and best practices - CMB-OMBA empowers its members to provide enduring memorials that honour lives and preserve legacies.
Who We Are:
CMB-OMBA (formerly OMBA) is a national association of accredited memorialists, monumental builders, and suppliers committed to integrity, excellence, and honoring lives. Our members are experienced professionals dedicated to ethical business and outstanding craftsmanship.
What We Do:
We promote and advance the monument industry across Canada through education, advocacy, collaboration, and quality assurance. We support our members with training, safety protocols, best practices, marketing tools, and regulatory representation. We also serve as a guide and trusted intermediary for families seeking memorials that truly honour their loved ones.
Where We Operate:
While rooted in Ontario, our reach spans coast to coast. Through our network of member companies across Canada and our online presence, we ensure families everywhere can access high-quality, accredited memorial services.
When We Began (and Continue Today):
Founded in September 1982, OMBA (now CMB-OMBA) has served as the standard bearer for Canadian memorialists for over four decades. Today we continue evolving—adapting to advances in materials, techniques, regulation, and public expectations—while serving both new and future generations.
Why We Exist:
At the heart of our work is trust, care, and legacy. We exist because families deserve honest, caring guidance when selecting a memorial. We exist so that memorials are built safely, last well, and preserve dignity over time. We exist so that our member companies can collaborate, learn, advocate, and grow. Ultimately, we exist to ensure lives are honored and memories endure.
